In 2021 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan is again trusted as a University that accepts the Technology Products Disseminated to the Public (PTDM) Program. The program is a prestigious program that drives appropriate technology to be used directly by society. The UAD PTDM team was chaired by Umi Salamah, S.Si., M.Sc from the Physics Study Program MELINS FAST and consisted of Qonitatul Hidayah, S.Si., M.Sc (Physics Study Program MELINS FAST), Sri Handayaningsih, S.T., M.T. (FAST Information System Study Program) raised the topic “Implementation of PLTS Hybrid Control and Monitoring System for Automation of Clean Water Pump Power Supply Serut Village Community, Gedangsari, Gunung Kidul ”. By collaborating with Tirta Abadi Jaya Community Voluntary Contribution Group (KKM) partners and Gunung Jambu Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS), the PTDM UAD Team initiated the technology to enter the village. Those partners manage the availability of clean water for people in Kalurahan Serut.
The Solar Power Plant (PLTS) built in Serut Village has a capacity of 5000 kWP which is used to operate drilled well water pumps as a water source for the Serut Village community. With the presence of PLTS, the electricity needs of the water pump can be met, thereby reducing significant operational costs, especially the cost of electricity pulses. In addition, the PLTS built was also developed for its use by the community for street lighting. Currently, 18 street lighting points have been laid. This PLTS system is also a PLTS system that can be driven by electric power generated by integrating it with Internet of Things (IoT) technology so that monitoring of the power can be done anywhere and anytime. It is proper that technology is useful in society, its presence is felt, not only at the level of theory and study. Solar Power Plants (PLTS) are not a new thing in the academic and research world, but for villagers it is still a ‘luxury’ thing. The PTDM UAD program is one of the manifestations of efforts to bring technology in the midst of village communities.
