The MoU Signing Ceremony between UAD and BAZNAS in 4 Districts in DIY
On Wednesday, March 31, 2021 Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) began to initiate the cooperation with 4 National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) by signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU was signed by Dr. Muchlas, M.T (Rector of UAD), Drs. H. Kriswamo, M.Sc (Chair of Sleman Regency BAZNAS), Drs. H. Damanhuri (Chair of Bantul Regency BAZNAS), Drs. H. Abdul Madjid (Chair of Kulonprogo Regency BAZNAS), and Samin Fauzi, M.Pdi (Chair of Gunungkidul Regency BAZNAS).
The scope of cooperation between UAD and the 4 BAZNAS includes the Educational field, National insight field, Research and application of Innovation field, Community service and KKN field, Scientific publications field, and Intellectual property field.
The signing ceremony of the MoU was began by a speech from the head of Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM), Anton Yudhana, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. He told that from the 4 Districts; Sleman, Bantul, Kulonprogo, and Gunungkidul, they have their own problems. Gunungkidul Regency, for example, they prioritize the handling of suicides or usually called ‘pulung gantung’ and the early divorce conflict.
UAD Chancellor, Dr. Muchlas, M.T in his speech reminded that after the signing of MoU it is hoped that a concrete follow-up will be held. He also emphasized that the principle of a good MoU should have a symbiose of mutuality, which is beneficial work. “Do not favor one party while the other party is harmed, let’s work together by maintaining a good and mutually beneficial work ethic” said the rector of UAD.
Drs. H. Damanhuri as the chair of Bantul Regency BAZNAS which represents the speech of the three chairs of BAZNAS told that actually BAZNAS wanted to collaborate with any Institutes/Universities for real. He said that actually there are some collaborations with some Universities before but there was no follow-up after signing the MoU.
BASNAS was really hoping for real implementation in this collaboration with UAD, at least it can handle the problems that happen in Bantul, Gunungkidul, Kulonprogo, and Sleman.
